Dogwood Ceramic Supply's telephone is always answered by an experienced ceramist who is ready to assist you with your purchase. Because customer support
and service is critical to every customer, there is No Phone-Tree-From-Hades when you call Dogwood Ceramic Supply. However, in order to best assist the large number of customers that call
each day a member of the sales staff may ask to take your telephone number and return your call.
After business hours a dedicated answering machine is
available for customers to contact Dogwood Ceramic Supply. Please avoid leaving
long, complex messages on any answering machine as the potential for errors is
increased with the length of the message. This is especially true when

Why No E-Mail?
The problems with e-mail are two fold: First and foremost, clear, precise written communication tends to be awkward for many people, especially for
technical products, and often generates what we call "dueling e-mails". Dueling e-mails is a seemingly endless stream of messages,
questions and answers which never seem to clarify the information being seek. Secondly, email, being a casual means of communication for many people, tends to
become garbled with abbreviations and assumptions. These abbreviations and assumptions only serve to complicate the issues with "dueling e-mails",
especially when there are complex products involved, such as a replacement gear for a
North Star slab roller.
Dogwood Ceramic Supply's position is pretty simple. We want to avoid "dueling e-mails" as they tend to slow down the process of communications between us and our
customers and inhibits the prompt resolution of problems and only serves to complicate simple purchases. The best way to avoid "dueling e-mails" is to simply avoid
accepting e-mail as a standard form of communication. Again, if you have a lengthy order, or a complex ceramic or pottery problem, please send a fax to our
dedicated fax machine, visit the showroom in person, or simply place a telephone call during our standard business hours.
| Yes, even a simple order can generate "dueling e-mails". How much is the freight? Has an allocation for freight charges been included on the Purchase Order? Will there be additional products purchased? What are those products? Do they need to be shipped with the primary order, held for local pickup or shipped separately? Do you need 208v or 240v electrical service for the Paragon Kiln? Will you need lift-gate for delivery? Are the doorways large enough to allow easy passage of the kiln? Is there a day, week or month which delivery may not be allowed (vacations, school closed for maintenance etc)? Is a left handed model required? Sending dozens of e-mails taking days or even weeks to resolve the issue or conduct ONE simple 5 minute telephone call. Maybe we are lazy, but our vote is for the telephone call. |
Beyond the basic issues of trying to resolve ordering issues, e-email is horrible for trying to resolve complex problems which could be easily resolved using voice to voice or face to face methods of communicating. Face to face is especially good for trouble shooting complex problems as it allows multiple staff members to assist the customer at one time.
| Doctor, Doctor, my head hurts. Brain tumor, aneurism, migraine or just a simple headache? Most likely your doctor will not be able to diagnose your headache without seeing the patient. Guess what, the same can be said for Dogwood Ceramic Supply trying to diagnose your Spectrum Glaze problems without seeing the patient (wares). When in doubt, bring the patient (the ceramic wares) to Dogwood for a proper exam and diagnoses. Unable to bring the patient? How about mailing the patient to Dogwood for a thorough and proper exam. Surprisingly, or not so surprisingly, we are quite good at diagnosing ceramic/pottery glaze issues when we can actually see the piece. Not a Dogwood Ceramic Supply customer? We are sure your current supplier performs the same service at no charge to their well established customers. |

Twenty years after the Sam's
Club opened their first warehouse store in Gulfport, a new, larger and
environmentally greener store has opened.
The new (Sam's Club Gulfport Mississippi) warehouse store is
north of Interstate 10 at US Hwy. 49 and Landon Road (opposite side of US Hwy 49
from the Crossroads Shopping Center). The large, spacious, well lit store is
23,000 square feet larger than the original that opened on Creosote Road at US
Hwy 49 back in 1988.
