   Today is the 5th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's devastating visit to Mississippi Gulf Coast.  While we appreciate every customer, there is a special place in our hearts for the Dogwood customers who were with us before Katrina's visit and stayed with us in the difficult years immediately following Katrina.

   To the estimated 1 million faith based and civic organization volunteers who have visit the Mississippi Gulf Coast over the past 5 years and donated their time, energy and skill to rebuilding the homes and schools of the Mississippi Gulf Coast we offer our deepest thanks.

The mold blocks for all Provincial, Byron and Studio Molds have been sold.

    All Provincial/Byron/Studio (mold) blocks currently owned by Creative Paradise, Inc. have been sold and production ceased pending the transfer of the blocks.  Additional copies of these molds will no longer available for purchase by Dogwood Ceramic Supply or our customers.

Price Adjustment on Mackie's Slip

    Due to rising costs associated with product packaging (boxes and bags), Mackie's Ceramics implemented a modest 4% price increase effective immediately on Mackie Slip.  The last official price increase was January 1, 2009 (over 20 months ago).

Price Adjustment on Spectrum 400 Series Underglazes

    In response to a Dogwood Ceramic Supply request, effective July 1, 2010, Spectrum is modifying the prices of the 400 Series Underglazes to a simplified price structure with just TWO price points.  While individual products may see a price increase (or decrease) the AVERAGE price of the entire product line remains as before.

    For customer convenience, Dogwood Ceramic Supply is making the price adjustment effective immediately.  The prices on the 400 Series webpage have been updated to reflect the new (adjusted) prices.

    Dogwood Ceramic Supply has made repeated attempts to reach White Horse Molds without any success as the telephone rings continuously without the answering machine intercepting.  The fax number is disconnected.  We have even contacted a number of our White Horse competitors, who state they too are unable to reach White Horse Molds.  Pending some sort of contact by White Horse Molds, Dogwood Ceramic Supply is assuming White Horse Molds is at least temporarily closed and may indeed be out of business.  Based upon our assumptions, White Horse Molds has been removed from our Ceramic Mold webpage.

   New Sprig Molds have been released by Creative Paradise in response to potters requesting more concise sprig molds ... meaning a sprig mold with fewer sprigs or less variety of sprigs.  The 3 new sprigs, just $12 each, will be arriving at Dogwood Ceramic Supply very shortly:

    Creative Paradise is also introducing a sprig mold featuring nine different sprig feet for adding consistent sized or decorative feet to clay bots.

     Spring 2010, effective with this issue, Clay Times is expanding the magazine size (page count) and reducing the publication to 4 issues annually.

Spring Remodeling

While the Dogwood Ceramic Supply website is being upgraded, the showroom staff have been busy as well:

   Dogwood Ceramic Supply's dedicated Molds for Clay Showroom display has been completed.  The primary goal of this project was to develop an appropriate display area for the showroom customers as well as holding space for reserve stock necessary for prompt shipping to our customers outside of the immediate market.  By utilizing the additional storage space on the far wall (just visible in the right-background) for the larger molds, the Molds for Clay display easily accomplished our goals.

     Additional remodeling projects are scheduled as time allows.

    May 2009, Emily Basset has joined the Dogwood Ceramic Supply staff.  While Emily's official title is Director of Personnel, unofficially she is tasked with chasing squirrels and dust bunnies as well as inspecting all incoming packages and boxes for doggie treats.  On your next visit to Dogwood Ceramic Supply please give Emily a warm welcome (and maybe sneak her a doggie treat as well).  Of course you should never forget to give a big doggie hello to one of Emily's many friends when they visit Dogwood Ceramic Supply

Hurricane Katrina

The spirit of Mississippi may have been stressed, but it was never broken:

    While we remember the past through pictures and memorials, we must also move forward. The Mississippi Gulf Coast is rebuilding and hopefully even growing larger and stronger. New restaurants are opening almost daily, shopping malls are being planned and new apartment and home starts are leading the nation. On the clay side of the world Dogwood Ceramic Supply is expanding our products and services and there are a number of pottery and ceramic studios that are opening along the Gulf Coast. Maybe there really is a silver lining in every dark cloud.
