Duncan Fired Color Specialty Products
The Duncan Fired Color Specialty Products are a diverse group of products which
include Duncan's Fired Snow, a decorative Glaze accessory as well as Duncan's Patch-A-Tatch which is a greenware mending paste. Both the Fired Snow and the
Patch-A-Tatch are nontoxic and safe for usage without restriction.
Duncan's Wax Resist and Mask'n Peel are accessories used to resist or repel glazes or underglazes to achieve interesting effects. Both Wax Resist and Mask'n
Peel are considered toxic in the liquid form and should not be used by young children. Please note, Mask'n Peel contains ammonia in the formula and is quite odorous.

Duncan Doll Composition Slip
Duncan's Doll Composition Body (also known as Doll Compo, Vinyl Composition Slip, Cold-Cast or Cool-Cast as well as Doll Composition Slip) is used to cast large pieces, typically doll bodies, that would otherwise not be possible to cast due to mold complexity or inability to fire such a large piece in the common home-studio kiln. On a cost per gallon basis, Doll Compo is far more expensive than traditional earthenware or porcelain slips so Doll Compo should be reserved for situations when traditional slips are not viable. Doll Compo can be tinted with Acrylics to match many flesh colored porcelain slips . Advance order is required for Doll Compo to insure that the customer receives the freshest possible batch of Doll Compo and avoid the shelf life issues that are common to all brands of Doll Composition Slip. Minimum Order of Doll Composition Slip is 4 gallons. 40% discount on purchases of 12 or more gallons of Doll Composition Slip. Doll Compo may not be combined with other Duncan products to obtain larger discounts.

Duncan Ceramic Spray Sealers
Spray Sealers are Duncan Products with the SS item prefix. Ceramic Spray Sealers are an aerosol coating that is used to protect the finished surface of
ceramic objects decorated with common acrylics. The Ceramic Spray Sealer will seal the pores of the painted surface and produce a smooth hard surface that may also brighten the underlying
colors. While the Ceramic Spray Sealers are typically used to protect and seal non-fired color products (such as acrylic stains and
oil-based translucents), the Ceramic Spray Sealers also have industrial applications such as a temporary protectant for optics and electronics. Dogwood Ceramic Supply
heavily stocks the Duncan Ceramic Spray Sealers because they are critically important to many of our customers.
Duncan SS 330 Super Gloss produces a gleaming, smooth and extremely protective final finish. This sealer
provides the glossiest possible spray finish over both water-based and oil-based nonfired colors.
Duncan SS 331 Clear Gloss and SS 332 Clear Matte can be used under, over and between coatings of Duncan nonfired colors. To maintain a bright
acrylic basecoat, spray on a coat before antiquing.
Duncan SS 334 Porcelain Spray produces the look and feel of fine porcelain bisque when applied over a fired glaze or Prep-Coat. It works
especially well as a final finish over dry-brushed items and can be used under, over and between nonfired colors.
Duncan SS 339 Super Matte produces a smooth, even, flat-matte finish on nonfired acrylic and translucent colors, and works particularly well
on realistic-looking animal figurines. It slightly softens underlying colors and provides a shine-free protective surface.

Duncan Oil-Based Translucent Stains
Duncan Oil-Based Translucent Stains are oil-based antiquing translucents in vibrant colors that can be wiped back with water to emphasis product details in
non-fired techniques... in hobby ceramics the technique is called "antiquing" and the product is colloquially referred to by the same name.
Because acrylic stains are often used in elementary schools as well as ceramic studios, the Duncan Oil-Based Translucent Stains are
manufactured from a vegetable oil base which allows the product to be nontoxic, environmentally friendly and can be easily cleaned up with water. The entire series of
9 colors of Duncan Oil-Based Translucent Stains are packaged in 2 ounce squeeze bottles.

Duncan Oil-Based Translucent Stains are shown on a contrasting acrylic stain, typically white. However, TS 551 White is shown on
black acrylic stain. Changing the color of the acrylic stain "base" coat can impact the appearance of the Oil-Based Translucent Stain.
Duncan's TS Oil-Based Translucent Stains replaced the NS Natural Tint Translucent Stains as the antiquing product in the Duncan product line. Duncan's
NS Natural Tint Translucent Stains, the primary antiquing product for the past couple decades, were discontinued 7+ years ago as Duncan started migrating the
product line to more environmentally (and consumer) friendly products. The NS Natural Tint Translucent Stains utilized a mineral spirit base which was odorous
for some consumers and created waste disposal issues for the manufacturer. By switching to a vegetable oil base used in the TS Oil-Based Translucent Stains,
Duncan was able to reduce their waste disposal costs as well having a product that is more pleasant for use by the average consumer.
