North Star Big Blue Clay Extruder

North Star's Big Blue Clay Extruder does not look or work like any other large capacity extruder on the market. As with all North Star equipment, the Big Blue Clay Extruder has been designed and engineered with safety as the primary consideration. There are no heavy bars or levers to injure the operators head or feet. There are no hydraulic pumps or air compressors with their inherent hazards and maintenance complexities. Instead, the trademark Wagon Wheel handle drives a compound rack-and-pinion gear box which dramatically reduces the force needed to make an extrusion. This makes it possible for anyone to produce large extrusions without strenuous physical exertion. How easy is the North Star Big Blue Extruder to use? No more than 30 lbs of force is needed at the Wagon Wheel handle to make an extrusion. This means even young children can use the Big Blue Extruder in a school setting with proper supervision.

The Big Blue Extruder features a very large 6" x 6" x 12" aircraft-grade aluminum barrel that is able to hold a full 25 pound pug of clay. It is able to produce continuous extrusions up to 4" x 4" OD (outside diameter), diameter without the expansion box usually required on the competitors large extruders. The Big Blue Extruder barrel and die lift out as a single unit (no tools required) so that changing dies, loading clay, and cleaning can be done easily.

    The Big Blue Extruder housing is made of powder coated steel and stainless steel. All drive gears and the gearbox are manufactured from solid steel, and are then either powder coated or plated to eliminate any possible rust formation or material contamination. Only UHMW plastic, aluminum, and stainless steel can possibly make contact with the clay.

   The Big Blue Extruder is designed to be securely mounted to a wall or post, and the mounting hardware required is included to ensure you are able to setup your Big Blue Extruder quickly without an additional trip to your local hardware store. The Wagon Wheel handle is secured in place by a quick release pin. It is easily and quickly removed without tools, so it can be set aside for convenience or storage.

   The Big Blue Extruder has a 1 Year Warranty, which is much longer than the 30 to 60 day warranties usually found on comparable equipment manufactured by many of our competitors who import from China. The Big Blue Extruder is also conveniently packaged to ship via UPS in two cartons, to guarantee quick and inexpensive shipping to almost any location worldwide.

   Every Big Blue Extruder comes with North Star's Large Basic Die Set for the Big Blue Extruder, which includes one large hollow square die, one large hollow round die, one large hollow hex die, and one hollow die center brace. One blank die plate that can be used to create your own custom die is also included.

   North Star also manufactures over 100 additional stock dies the Big Blue Extruder that may be purchased individually or in money-saving sets. The Big Blue Extruder may also be used with any of the stock dies for the Standard Extruders with the addition of the Big Blue Extruder Adapter Plate (available separately and not included in the Big Blue Extruder Package ).
