North Star Shelf Trucks are moderately priced but of industrial quality. The North Star Shelf Truck was originally designed as a simple pottery cart for the pottery studio and classroom, but are now used in print shops, machine shops, warehouses, hospitals, factories, and many other businesses world wide. The attractive and durable shelf trucks are a wonderful addition to any studio, shop or school. The Shelf Trucks were designed to last a lifetime with very little care.

North Star Shelf Trucks measure 39" wide by 24" deep by 67" tall. They are designed to support 24" x 36" shelves of any thickness. Safe load capacity is rated at 750 pounds. This is the only such shelf truck in the world engineered from the ground up to ship via UPS to provide the lowest freight cost, quickest shipping, and delivery to almost any address worldwide.

    North Star uses a much larger, wider, and stronger casters than any other shelf truck manufacturer. Large 6" diameter American-made industrial ball-bearing casters are rated at 300 pounds each ( 1,200 pounds total for the shelf truck ) and roll very easily even over rough and uneven floors. All four casters swivel for easy maneuvering and two of the casters have foot-operated parking brakes for safety.

   The North Star Shelf Truck is made entirely of heavy 14-gauge steel with North Star's extremely durable blue powder-coat finish. Each shelf truck comes with four pairs of shelf brackets, which will yield five shelf levels (the base holds the fifth shelf ). North Star Shelf Truck standard shelves are simply 24" x 36" rectangles of 1/2" MDO plywood trimmed on the edge with blue T-molding (5 included in the Shelf Truck package) For applications that may require heavier shelves, or some other special configuration (such as two 12" x 36" shelves per level), customers will find it quite easy to make their own from materials readily available from their nearby lumber yard or home improvement center.

   Shelves are supported at each end by sturdy brackets of a unique design that simply drop into the square holes spaced every 2 inches along the corner uprights. The spacing between shelves and the number of shelves is instantly adjustable without any tools. All shelves, except the bottom shelf which rides directly on the base, may be placed at any level so there is never any wasted space and conveniently slide in and out. For low height pieces such as tiles the truck can hold as many as 22 shelves.
