Paragon GL 44ADTS and GL 64ADTS

The Glass Coffin Kilns

    The Paragon GL-44ADTS and Paragon GL-64ADTS have become classics for serious glass artists.  The GL series of Paragon Kilns are sold to professional glass artists seeking the wide coffin type shape necessary to fire large glass panels for windows or tables as well as multiple glass shades or production quantities of smaller wares.  These big kilns also find their way into university settings for research in glass.  The Paragon GL-44ADTS and GL-64ADTS are identical except their lengths and the number of Litelids necessary to open the heavy kiln lid.  The GL-44ADTS is 44" long and uses two Litelids while the GL 64ADTS is 64" long and uses three Litelids.  The lid itself is insulated with 1" and 3" ceramic fiber boards with the replaceable elements mounted without pins in the fiber board grooves.  The wall and bottom bricks on both kilns are 2½" standard insulating firebrick.  Both kilns are kilns are reinforced with a tubular steel frame that is 2" thick as these kilns are quite heavy.  The chamber size of these kilns is 22" wide (front to back) and 16" deep.  The length (left to right) is either 44" or 64".

    Operating these kilns is quite simple.  The Sentry 2.0 Digital Controller that is the heart of the kiln, while the independent switches (shown right below the digital controller on the control panel to the right of the kiln) allow the user to regulate the amount of heat generated from the top and sidewall elements.  As with other box kilns with a separate control panel, the control panel can be mounted on either the left or the right side of the kiln.

    Please note:  The furniture kits for these kilns consist of either two or three 20" square shelves.  Fiber paper should used whenever projects overlap the shelves.  Fiber paper is not sold by Paragon, but can be readily purchased from your regular glass supplier.

Paragon GL 44ADTS Kiln:

    $7190 and $7695 are the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.  Dogwood Ceramic Supply's discounted prices are $4600 and $4900 

    All options have appropriate discounts applied from the MSRP.

    Freight charges are based upon the customer's location.  Please refer to Paragon freight information for complete information including special rates and any adjustments to the basic freight charges for your specific location.  The standard freight charges includes Liftgate delivery service, the furniture kit and most common accessories that may be added to a kiln purchase.

    For kilns shipped without the matching furniture kit the freight charges must be hand computed and are typically $30 to $80 higher than the published freight rates.

    The Paragon Factory Free Program also applies to any combination of Paragon Kilns that exceed $6000 or more at Dogwood's selling price.  The $6000 can be any combination of 1 or 2 kilns plus accessories.  The Paragon Factory Freight Free program was designed for commercial locations with loading dock.  Additional charges for liftgate service, restricted access or limited access delivery may apply.
