     The Paragon TnF 24-3 is the traditional "Professional" kiln produced by Paragon.  With 7.10 cubic feet of interior volume (interior is 22 ½" wide by 29" deep) the TnF 24-3 has the been the top choice for schools and production studios for many years.  The TnF 24-3 has 3" wall bricks to achieve the Energy Miser status and is capable of firing up to Cone 10 and starting in 2006 the top brick row of the TnF 24-3 has been blank brick that is less susceptible to damage during loading than a standard grooved element brick found in other brands of kilns.  The use of blank brick at the top of the kiln also allows the kiln to be 2" taller than other brands of kiln, thus increasing the quantity of wares to be fired while also allowing easy user replacement of the brick should it become damaged during usage.
     While the Paragon TnF 24-3 has a large firing volume and is equipped with the Paragon LiteLid for ease of opening the kiln lid, the kiln does have a drawback in that the depth of the kiln can be difficult to load.  The top of the wall bricks is approximately 41.5" above ground.  Customers considering the TnF 24-3 may also be advised to consider the easy to load TnF 23-3 or TnF 27-3.  The Paragon TnF 24 is identical to the Paragon TnF 24-3, except the Paragon TnF 24 does not have the 3" energy miser bricks of the TnF 24-3 and the TnF-24 has one inch wider interior width.

    Freight charges are based upon the customer's location.  Please refer to Paragon freight information for complete information including special rates and any adjustments to the basic freight charges for your specific location.  The standard freight charges includes Liftgate service, the furniture kit and most common accessories that may be added to a kiln purchase.

    For kilns shipped without the matching furniture kit the freight charges must be hand computed and are typically $30 to $80 higher than the published freight rates.

Liftgate delivery is always included in the shipping costs for kilns that are drop shipped from the Paragon factory.

Call for prices on multiple kiln purchases

    The TnF 24-3 is stocked by Dogwood Ceramic Supply for over the counter purchase by local and regional customers.  The shipping crate is approximately 36"w x 41"d x 49"h.  Please bring a truck with an adequate width bed and no bed cover, as this kiln, even when uncrated (uncrated height approximately 41"), will not fit into most SUV's or vans. The in-store price ($1810.00) is slightly higher than the drop shipped price due to warehouse and handling costs, however there are no freight charges for over the counter purchases from The Showroom inventory.  The price of the accessories remains the same as the drop ship prices.

Explanation of Options for Round Kilns

   A large top loading kiln that is 29" deep can be very difficult to load as the top edge of the wall of the kiln when the kiln is mounted on it's kiln stand will be 41.5" from the ground.  A user of a 29" deep kiln who stands less than 6' tall will have difficulty reaching the bottom of the 29" deep kiln.   

The kiln model is 5'9" Sara Miller of the George Ohr Museum.  Sara is standing between the Paragon Viking 28 and Paragon TnF 24-3, both kilns are 29" deep internally and have a 41.5" lift over height.  In front of Sara is the easy to load Paragon TnF 27-3 Short and Wide Kiln.

Sara is unable to reach the bottom of the tall kilns and is straining against the wall brick of the kiln to reach the owner's manual.  Repeated leaning against kiln wall bricks will damage the bricks.

    If you actually require a deeper kiln to fire your ware then the 29" deep kilns may be your only option.  If you require a tall firing height consider the Dragon or Super Dragon from Paragon.  The front loading Dragon is much easier to load than top loading kilns and offers a 27" firing chamber height.  The Super Dragon from Paragon can be manufactured in nearly any possible height with 36" being the standard chamber height for the Super Dragon.
