Seeley's English Stoneware Slip has a beautiful color and finish and performs flawlessly in casting, firing and decorating. It is sturdy and chip resistant, with a rich jasper-like texture, perfect for both decorative and utilitarian ware. Seeley's English Stoneware Slip has a traditional, semi-abrasive texture of fine pottery and takes underglazes and glazes exceptionally well. Seeley's Stoneware Slip is a high fire casting slip that is vitreous at Cone 5-6 and may be fired hotter with some limitations.

Seeley's English Stoneware Slip is available in two standard colors that are easy to cast, clean and fire. Seeley's English Stoneware Slip is vitreous and shrinks 12% at Cone 6. The stoneware slip is pre-mixed, ready for casting, and is packaged in a 2.5 gallon box with a sealed plastic bag within the box.

Decorating options:
    Casting time for Seeley's English Stoneware Slip is 20 to 45 minutes, depending upon the size and design of the mold, and the desired thickness. For most stoneware designs, a thickness of 4 to 6mm (¼ inch) would be ideal.
    Cleaning/preparation of cast items can be either by traditional green ware method, or the ware may be soft fired to Cone 020 and then cleaned.
    Seeley's English Stoneware Slip is a very versatile clay product that has a virtually unlimited number of possible decorating techniques. Items cast in Seeley's English Stoneware Slip can be decorated much in the same manner as any high fire clay body, or may be fired to maturity and decorated with low fire underglazes and glazes.
