    The Shimpo RK-Whisper Pottery Wheel shares the same electronic controller to maintain speeds under all load conditions AND the direct-drive (no belt and pulley), brushless, 400 watt, ½ hp, 0-250 rpm DC motor with high torque that is conservatively rated for 100 lb centering capacity with VL Whisper.  The wheel head is easily reversible for both left and right handed usage (hand control only mounts on right), and is free spinning at 0 rpm for use as a banding wheel.  But the RK Whisper adds so much more.     Additional STANDARD features include:  Steel case with a fixed foot pedal with hand lever like the original Shimpo RK, 12" wheel head, classic RK style two-piece splashpan (not shown on the main photo) with locking clips, and adjustable rubber leveling feet.  All this in a compact design, maintenance-free, two-year warranty package.
    Like the VL Whisper, the RK-Whisper with the extremely efficient and powerful direct drive motor, can outperform many belt driven wheels with a much, much higher horse power ratings.
