Regulatory changes have also taken place that tighten the procedures for shipments of hazardous materials and those materials that may be considered hazardous or just appear to be hazardous. While the vast majority of products sold by Dogwood Ceramic Supply are nontoxic in the raw form and perfectly safe to transport via small package carriers such as UPS, there are materials, such as dry glazes, that are potentially hazardous when the package is damaged in shipping and the product is dispersed and becomes airborne. Some dry glaze materials are especially hazardous when the product is dispersed and becomes airborne. Dogwood Ceramic Supply has been advised to cease shipping all potentially hazardous dry products via small package carriers. As there is only a limited market for these dry materials and shipping these dry products in small quantities via another means is not practical, Dogwood Ceramic Supply has ceased the sale of dry materials. |
