 S103 Red Clay (Cone 06-2)
Standard Clay's S-103 Red Clay is a very smooth, low fire, plastic, terra-cotta body, without the addition of grog or coarse clays.
Standard S-103 Red Clay is an excellent for the classroom, and may be used in a variety of techniques,
though throwing with the clay is rather limited due to the smooth consistency. In oxidation firing the clay is a traditional terra-cotta color at Cone 06, and a very deep brick red at cone 2. The clay sample on the left was fired to Cone 06, the right sample was fired to Cone 2.
Potter's seeking a low fire or midrange firing red clay for use on the wheel
should seriously consider Standard's S-104 Red Clay
with Grog.
