S104 Red Clay with Grog

S104 Red Clay with Grog (Cone 06-4)
    Standard Clay's S-104 Red Clay with Grog is a moderately textured, versatile low fire clay with 12% fine grog and an extended firing range.  Standard S-104 Red Clay with Grog is good for hand building or slab work. The large amount of fine grog does not preclude this clay from being thrown on the wheel.  In oxidation firing, the clay is a medium terra-cotta color at Cone 06, and nearly dark red at Cone 4. The clay sample on the left was fired to Cone 06, the right sample was fired to Cone 4.   The addition of grog is the only thing that distinguishes Standard's S-104 Red Clay with Grog from Standard S-103 Red Clay.
