S225 Brown Stoneware Clay

S225 Brown Stoneware Clay (Cone 4-6)
    Standard Clay's S-225 Brown Stoneware Clay is the same clay as S-112 Speckled Brown Clay without the addition of the granular manganese.  Standard S225 Brown Stoneware Clay has 4% fine grog that is excellent for throwing and modeling.  At Cone 4 in oxidation, shown on the left, the color is a light warm brown.  The color becomes less warm, and deepens and darkens to nearly a medium brown, as the clay approaches Cone 6, shown on the right.  Good results may also be expected in reduction firings but the clay does not have a broad firing range suitable for Cone 10 reduction.
