UPS Shipments of Casting Slips

    Dogwood Ceramic Supply actively ships ceramic slips to schools, hospitals, universities, business and hobby customers throughout the United States on a daily basis.  If you are having problems obtaining slip in your local market, give us a call, we will ship the slip products that you need to support your program, hobby, or business.
    Please be advised, UPS shipping costs, relative to the cost of the product, can be expensive.

Ground UPS Rates

    The UPS shipping weight of 2 gallon boxes of casting slip is 32 lbs.  UPS Charges are shown for a single box of casting slip designated for Commercial Delivery shipped Standard Ground.  Fuel surcharges, $1.85 Residential Surcharge and $1.40 to $2.20 Delivery Area Surcharge for rural addresses may also apply.

HundredWeight UPS Rates

   Dogwood Ceramic Supply has a discounted UPS HundredWeight contract that allows for multiple piece shipments to qualify for substantially reduced rates versus standard published UPS HundredWeight charges.  UPS HundredWeight Service applies for shipments of at least 200 pounds delivered to a single consignee as a single shipment.  The maximum quantity of casting Slip that can be shipped via UPS in a single shipment is 16 boxes (32 gallons, 496 lbs).  Rates are shown in price per pound.    Multiply the billable weight of the shipment by the rate for the appropriate shipping zone, subject to the minimum charge.  Residential Surcharge of $20.00 per shipment will apply to all UPS HundredWeight shipments.  Delivery Area Surcharge of $7.50 will apply to select rural shipments.

Additional Information

   Quantities larger than 16 boxes will be shipped via motor freight.

    Slip can not freeze, and all small package carriers refuse to warrant their shipments against freezing damage.   Therefore, it is recommended that slip NOT be shipped during the winter season if the projected day time high temperature at the shipping location, the location of the customer or any freight servicing terminal between the shipping point and and the customer is below 28°F.

    Basic packaging fee of $2.25 will be assessed on all UPS orders that are boxed for shipment by Dogwood Ceramic Supply.  This fee covers the cost of the first box used in packing the shipment and the administrative costs of prepaying the UPS charges.  In addition, a handling fee of $1.00 per box of casting slip will apply.  These fees will be included within the UPS charges on your invoice.      

Casting Slip for UPS shipments have been double bagged (the sealed bag is placed inside of another bag and sealed again) and then packaged in heavy duty double wall shipping boxes rated to 120 lbs.  The slip boxes for over the counter sales and motor freight shipments are rated to only to 65 lbs and single bagged.  The UPS slip boxes are then placed into an outer box with Styrofoam box liners for shipment to the customer.  This additional attention to packaging allows Dogwood Ceramic Supply to ship slip across North America with little fear of damage during shipment. Please note, even with the additional packaging material there is no guarantee for the safe arrival of any slip product as the internal bag holding the liquid slip may be stressed, compressed, or even punctured during the shipping process.  Historically, Dogwood Ceramic Supply's damage rate for slip shipped via UPS is less than 1% of all boxes shipped.  Even with this relatively low damage rate slip is shipped at the risk of the purchaser.   In the event a box of slip is damaged in shipping, neither UPS nor Dogwood Ceramic Supply will honor any claim for product replacement or refund.
