Paragon Kiln Parts
Dogwood Ceramic Supply stocks a wide range of kiln parts common to nearly every kiln in the Paragon line plus a pretty good selection of not so common parts that are specific to just a single kiln model.
To keep track of the unique kiln parts, such as elements designed for use with only one specific electrical configuration of a kiln model, Paragon utilizes a 10 digit alpha numeric PN numbering system in addition to the commonly known model and SN (serial) number of the kiln. The PN number (2565111GDE for example is the PN for a specific configuration of TnF 27-3 always in Dogwood's showroom and warehouse stock) is included on the electrical plate for all Paragon Kilns designed during the past decade and older designs are being upgraded to the PN system to minimize unique replacement part issues.
When ordering Paragon kiln elements always use the PN designation, if there is one available on the electrical plate, in addition to the model number and serial number of the kiln. Yes, all three numbers. Oh, and if the kiln was designed to work on something other than 240v single phase it would be nice to mention that fact as well just to speed up the cross referencing / verification process.
For other parts, what we call the common parts, the model number of the kiln or item number of the part required is usually more than sufficient because the PY-50 thermocouple used in the Paragon Viking 28 is the same PY-50 thermocouple used in the Paragon GL 24ADTSD. Radically different kilns, one common thermocouple.

Mechanical Kilns, such as the S and SnF Paragon Kilns as well as the old Duncan kilns and the long ago retired Paragon A-88, utilized a switching system to provide power to the elements. Shut off for the mechanical kilns was regulated by the Dawson Kiln Sitter. Dawson has retired. Replacement components for the Dawson Kiln Sitter are now manufactured by the Orton Ceramic Foundation so that legacy kilns can continue to be repaired.
