About Dogwood Ceramic Supply

With a thriving local community of artists, ceramists and potters, Dogwood Ceramics opened in 1988 as a traditional storefront ceramic studio to serve the local hobby community.  The business rapidly grew from local hobby sales to regional supply sales and in 1993 Dogwood Ceramics was renamed Dogwood Ceramic Supply to properly reflect the diversity of products and our role in distributing ceramic and pottery equipment and supplies across the nation.

Dogwood Ceramic Supply Showroom

In 2001 we moved from our original storefront location to The Showroom (shown above).  The Showroom, with over 13,000 sq. ft. of combined product display and warehouse space was specifically designed for the modern pottery and ceramic business with dedicated display areas for kilns and major pottery equipment and stroller (and dog) safe isles separating the rows of supplies.  The showroom is backed by plenty of warehouse space for bulk storage of everything needed to serve schools, colleges, government programs, commercial and hobby customers.  And for local customers there is ground level access with roll up door for loading vehicles during the inclement weather of South Mississippi.  And lets not forget the covered loading dock at the rear of the building to protect and process our freight shipments from rain and other stuff that might fall from the sky.

Today, nearly 30 years after we started, Dogwood Ceramic Supply is a nationally recognized pottery and ceramic equipment and supply specialist.  With our limited product offerings, often to a single brand within a product category, we are often able to offer far better prices and even greater product support when compared to many of our competitors who try to be everything to everybody.

Take kilns for example.  Dogwood Ceramic Supply sells only Paragon Kilns.  One brand, that is it.  Even within the Paragon product line, we sell only select kilns from the Paragon catalog.  Basically what we do, we do very well.  Our experience and knowledge of the Paragon product line is reflected in our extensive Paragon Information Guide written over a decade ago and still relevant today.  The Dogwood Ceramic Supply developed Paragon Information webpage is so thorough and informative that the page is often used as a selling tool by our direct competitors and even kiln companies competing against Paragon.

While sharing knowledge is always important, even more important is maintaining adequate inventory of equipment and supplies in stock for immediate shipment to schools, hospitals, studios and working professionals.
